

Socketed (2) A Normal quality Full Helm, a Normal Socketed Full Helm (nothing socketed), and a Normal Socketed Full Helm with Runeword You can create Normal Socketed Weapons, Chest Armor, Head Armor, or Shields out of regular Normal unsocketed pieces using the Horadric Cube. Runeword-enhanced Normal Socketed armor is a major source of end-game gear for those playing the full version with the Lord of Destruction (LoD) expansion enabled. Normal Socketed Chest Armor, Helms, Weapons, and Shields are the only gear items that can be used to create Runewords. Normal Socketed gear items that have anywhere from 1-6 Sockets that can accept Gems, Jewels, or Runes.


Many gear types and qualities can be changed or improved using the Horadric Cube. Adding Magic Find items will increase your chances of getting any magical drops.

While gear of any rarity can drop at nearly any level and difficulty in game, the higher the level of game, the more Rare, Set, and Unique items you will see. There are also Ethereal versions of all these types of gear, a special state of the gear where the armor has both great bonuses and one big drawback: it can't be repaired.
